Fleas are blood sucking parasites. They host themselves on rats, cats, dogs and humans as well. Fleas are mostly brought into homes by infested pets like dogs and cats. They have piercing type mouthparts and normally bite humans from the lower legs and below.
Fleas prefers warm and humid conditions and are attracted to human's body warmth. Their body is flattened vertically to allow them to move easily between the host's body hairs.
Bite wounds from fleas can cause skin inflammation. They also carry human diseases.

Controlling Fleas
High standard of cleanliness must be maintained to reduce fleas infestation.

Keep your home clean at all times. Make sure carpets, floors are vacuumed periodically. This helps to remove any fleas and/or eggs. |
